On 5/22, there was an update to the Top247 Football Recruit Rankings and I'd thought I'd share how some of our guys have trended:
QB Jadyn Davis: #28 -> #29
TE Brady Prieskorn: #95 -> #145
RB Jordan Marshall: #176 -> #193
OT Andrew Sprague: #133 -> #106
OL Blake Frazier: #444 -> #192
S Jacob Oden: #188 -> #211
TE Hogan Hansen: #117 -> #107
DE/DT Jerod Smith: #230 -> #142

Eight top 300 players. I don't know how that tracks historically - but, I'd guess it's the foundation of a solid class. I wonder how Nike's Elite 11 QB camp will turn out - and, whether that will impact Jadyn Davis' ranking. (Of course, the Elite 11 will actually have 12 QB's this season.)

It’s always 12 quarterbacks. I lived very close to the event and attended several years. Cool to look back at the players I saw back then.

Please help a confused old man out.
1. Is the first number their current or revised grade?
2. Why is Davis listed at #26 nationally (first player) when clicking on your hyper-link and not either 28 or 29 as stated in the post?
3. Kinda same question with Marshall. On the hyper-link page he's listed at 89 nationally but in your post he's 176 - 193.
I didnt look any further as it was clear I must be doing something very wrong here.
Edit: Thanks!

1. left is old, right is new.
2. The numbers at the link are composite rankings. The numbers in the OP should be 247's own site ratings.

First number is the previous grade.
Jadyn is now 29th in the 247 rankings and 26th in the composite(average of 247, Rivals and ESPN rankings)

"Jayden Davis drops in new 247 rankings" would have been a fantastic thread title.
Missed opportunity.

Really thrilled with where we are at on May 30th. Combine another successful fall with being able to be more selective on higher ranked players.....Good situation!

All of the movement looks...fine?
QB Jadyn Davis: #28 -> #29 - Defying rankings gravity is almost like moving up the rankings.
TE Brady Prieskorn: #95 -> #145 - Looks like rankings gravity, but maybe tilted towards an actual drop.
RB Jordan Marshall: #176 -> #193 - Just gravity.
OT Andrew Sprague: #133 -> #106 - Upward movement is good movement.
OL Blake Frazier: #444 -> #192 - Michigan miiiiiiiight be good at identifying OL recruits.
S Jacob Oden: #188 -> #211 - Just gravity.
TE Hogan Hansen: #117 -> #107 - Upward movement is good movement.
DE/DT Jerod Smith: #230 -> #142 - Upward movement is good movement.

Overall, a stronger class as far as ratings go. Ratings blah blah blah, but good stuff if you're a stargazer.

All ratings increases are good and accurate.
All ratings declines are just gravity so its an unexplainable and inscrutable manifestation of the universe that means nothing.

It's also a good sign if you subscribe to Seth's theory of ratings "velocity": Recruits that move up the rankings late rarely rise as high as they should and recruits that fall down the rankings late rarely drop as much as they should. The 2023 cycle is still relatively young, but none of Michigan's recruits look likely to tumble down the rankings. Most of the downward movement looks like regular rankings gravity. Only Brady Prieskorn's drop looks like it could be something more than newer or shinier recruits getting moved up.

Also of note on Prieskorn, he doesn't do the camp circuit. Right or wrong it tends to hurt you in the rankings.

Worth noting, Hogan Hansen is above Prieskorn now given the drop. So even if he's dropping for "a reason" they still have another TE that is sticking near the top 100. Hansen is 107th now.

I think the second Frazier's film was posted on this board most of us knew there was no way he is not a top-150 player. Dude was mauling elite competition like he was Kramer in karate class.

Would never claim to be a talent evaluator, Jeremiah Beasley going from 13th ranked linebacker on 247 to the 26th feels a bitttt steep.

I’m pretty new to On3 but I know they’ve spent a lot to get their brand out there. Does their composite ranking incorporate 4 services (247, Rivals, ESPN, and On3)? If so, is that the new composite to look to?

Yes.
I'm not sure if they do what 247 (40-50%) does though which is put more weight into their own rankings.
Also, I think On3 doesn't do positional value so their QBs won't be rated as high, overall, relative to other sites.
It makes sense that 247 would favor their rankings as its been proven that they're the most accurate though I realize On3 is fairly new.

Someone can correct if I am wrong but pretty sure the other day I read ESPN is 10%,while Rivals is 20%and 247 is 30% and On3 is 40%. I could be wrong but I am sure of the ESPN number for sure.

How the hell is Manuel Beigel still ranked so low? Dude picked up Penn State, Texas A&M, and Georgia offers in April. Last update, 247 dropped him just days before those offers came in.
